Q: How much? A: How rude. We could quote JP Morgan here, and say "if you have to ask...you can't afford it," but that's not the tone we'd like to set. So, please don't start our communication with just two words. Instead, please tell us about yourself, why you're looking for a Maine Coon, or any other pleasantries before asking about availability and price -- then we'll be glad to tell you how our pricing breaks down, and what goes into the decision on the price range. We do fall into the mid range of competitive pricing for Maine Coons from $2500-$3500 per kitten. And, we do offer a military discount to those that qualify.
Q: Where are you located? A: We are in Southeast Florida, United States
Q: I want a big cat...How big will my kitten get? A: There is quite a difference between a big healthy cat, and a big unhealthy cat. Maine Coons are the largest domesticated purebred cat. The healthy weight range for a male is 13-18 lbs, and females 8-12 lbs. There are exceptions to this, of course, where you will find a 30 lb. Maine Coon, and if that cat is structurally sound with a broad chest, muscular/athletic build, well-proportioned rectangular appearance, then you've found a healthy giant among the gentle giants of the cat world. So many are just wanting a ginormous MC that overfeeding and an unhealthy diet just to "fatten" them up is confused with the overall size of the cat. Maine Coons are big cats, period. Will there be anomalies to size? Yes, there can be, just as in human families.
Q: Can I come see the kittens in person? A: No. EZMC is a closed, in-home cattery -- not a storefront, but a private home. To ensure the health of our kittens and cats, and to maintain the wellness of the cattery as a whole, we do not allow visitors.
Q: What are your travel options? A: By Car: we personally transport/deliver kittens to their furever homes within a two hour drive radius -- meaning we could drive to drop off, or we meet owners half-way/wherever marks the two hour spot for us, at no extra cost. Although, we've been known to be flexible in this aspect. By Plane: Within the United States, accompanied air travel (by us) is also available at varying extra fees, meaning -- if our personal cost of a round-trip ticket for the human plus the kitten airline travel fee exceeds a certain amount, then we ask the purchaser to pick up the extra cost. Cargo travel can also be a consideration, although not the most desired.
Q: Do you have a waiting list? A: Yes, but we limit our waiting lists, so our pawtential families do not have to wait years for the kitten of their choice.
Q: Do you sell with breeding rights? A: To quote Oscar Wilde, "I am not young enough to know everything." So, the answser is no. We do not offer breeding rights or breeder mentoring.
Q: How often do you update with pictures and videos? A: We realize this is an exciting time, and know how important pictures and videos of your growing baby kitten is to you. We guarantee an update once a week, but history has shown we are very good at this -- mostly to avoid being asked for an update -- we try to beat you to it!
